Terms & Conditions

Last updated:

These terms explain how to use Secuno and its Secuno Plus subscription. They do not limit your rights under applicable law.

1. About Secuno

Secuno (the “app”) is provided by Hubert Kraus (“I”, “me”). You can contact me at [email protected].

2. Using Secuno

Please read these terms before using Secuno. If you do not agree to them, do not use the app. Opening the app does not start a paid subscription. A purchase requires separate confirmation through the App Store.

You do not need to create a Secuno account. Purchases require an Apple Account. If you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission to enter into this agreement, obtain that permission before using the app. The Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled.

3. What the app does

Secuno helps you track your working time and earnings. You can add workplaces, set pay rates, track time with a timer or enter shifts manually, record overtime, tips and notes, and review your calendar and history.

Secuno is a tool for keeping your own records. It does not pay your wages, calculate taxes or social security contributions, or check your employer’s pay rules. Check your records before using them to calculate or settle payments.

4. Apple’s licence and acceptable use

Your licence to use the app is governed by Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement (Standard EULA). These terms explain the service and subscriptions. They neither replace the Standard EULA nor create a separate software licence. The Standard EULA applies to licensing matters, subject to your mandatory legal rights.

You must not use Secuno unlawfully, violate anyone’s privacy, gain unauthorised access or bypass payments or plan limits.

5. The free version and Secuno Plus

The free version lets you use one workplace and save up to 20 entries per calendar month. The limit counts entries across all workplaces, based on each entry’s start date and your device’s calendar and time zone. A shift that crosses a month boundary counts once, in the month it starts. Deleting an entry frees up space within the limit. Editing an entry within the same month does not count as an additional entry; moving it to a different month is subject to that month’s limit.

Secuno Plus lets you use multiple workplaces and removes the monthly entry limit. It also unlocks statistics, NFC time tracking, CSV, PDF and TXT reports, and optional iCloud sync.

Plus is available as an automatically renewing monthly or annual subscription. The price, currency, applicable taxes, billing period and any free trial are shown before you buy. Apple processes payments, and RevenueCat helps verify your access. Making or restoring a purchase and verifying access may require an internet connection.

6. Free trials

If an offer includes a free trial, its duration and the price that applies afterwards are shown before you subscribe. Availability depends on the offer and your Apple Account’s eligibility under App Store rules. Not everyone is eligible for a trial.

Your trial converts to a paid subscription unless you turn off renewal. To avoid a charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Check your Apple subscription settings to see when your access ends.

You can enable a reminder scheduled for 48 hours before the trial’s known end time, provided that the scheduled reminder time has not already passed. This requires notification permission. Delivery also depends on iOS and your device settings. A reminder does not cancel your subscription. You remain responsible for keeping track of the cancellation deadline.

7. Calculations and currency

Results depend on the hours, rates and other information you enter. When you enter a shift manually, its duration is rounded up to the next whole minute. Calculated earnings are rounded to two decimal places. For an entry marked as overtime, the percentage you set acts as a pay multiplier: 150% means 1.5 times the hourly rate. The app does not determine when you are legally entitled to overtime pay.

Changing the selected currency changes how amounts are labelled. It does not convert saved amounts using exchange rates. Reports reflect your own records. They are not proof of payment or official accounting documents.

8. Other features and requirements

  • iCloud: Sync is an optional Plus feature. It requires an iCloud account, available storage and the appropriate Apple settings. Sync may be delayed. Turning it off does not delete information already stored in iCloud. Keep a separate copy of important records.
  • NFC: This requires a supported device and a compatible tag. The link must match a workplace already in your app’s database. It can start or end a timer session, so check the result in the app. A tag does not transfer work history or grant Plus access.
  • Reports: Reports are created on your device. You choose the records, format and recipient. Exporting a report does not provide a way to restore Secuno’s database. Keep shared files secure.
  • Notifications and Live Activities: These depend on permissions, hardware and the operating system. Timer information may appear on your Lock Screen.
  • Requirements: The current version requires iOS or iPadOS 17.6 or later. When you use external services, including the App Store and iCloud, their applicable terms also apply. The Privacy Policy describes the providers used by Secuno.

9. Renewals, cancellation and refunds

Your subscription renews automatically until you turn off renewal. To avoid another charge, turn off renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Price changes follow Apple’s rules and applicable law, including any notice or consent requirements.

To cancel, open your device’s settings and go to Apple Account → Subscriptions → Secuno. If you cancel during a paid period, access continues until that period ends, subject to refunds and your statutory rights. Deleting the app or its data does not cancel a subscription.

You can restore a purchase using “Restore purchases” in Secuno’s settings, with the Apple Account associated with that purchase. Restoring a purchase does not start a new trial.

You can request a refund for an App Store payment at reportaproblem.apple.com. This process does not prevent you from making a complaint to me or exercising the statutory rights described in section 16.

10. Stopping use and what happens when Plus ends

You can stop using Secuno at any time. Any subscription must be cancelled separately through your Apple Account.

When Plus expires, your saved workplaces and history are not deleted. The free version’s limits apply again. If you have several workplaces, you choose one to use on the free plan. You cannot change this selection while the selected workplace still exists. Deleting that workplace allows you to choose another. Other workplaces stay saved, but their use and editing are restricted. Entries above the limit are not deleted.

Statistics, exports, NFC time tracking and iCloud sync require Plus. If you subscribe again, your workplaces become available again. You will need to enable iCloud sync again yourself.

A serious breach of these terms may lead to the termination of your right to use the app under the Standard EULA and applicable law. This does not remove any statutory claims you may have relating to a paid service.

11. Ownership of the app and your records

The rights to Secuno’s own code, design and materials belong to me. Third-party components are covered by their respective licences. You keep the rights to your own records. Using Secuno does not transfer those rights to me.

If you voluntarily share ideas with me, I may use them to improve the app without payment. This does not give me permission to publish your work records or private messages.

12. Updates and availability

Updates are delivered through the App Store. I provide updates required by this agreement and applicable law. Install them to help keep the app working properly and securely. Features that require an internet connection may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance or outages.

Changes beyond those needed to keep the service in line with this agreement may be made because of changes in the law, Apple’s requirements, security needs, operating system compatibility or feature development. These changes will comply with applicable law, will not involve an extra charge for the change itself and will be explained to you as required. This does not give me an unrestricted right to remove features you have paid for.

13. Responsibility

I am responsible for Secuno under this agreement and applicable law. These terms do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Check your records and results before using them to calculate or settle payments. Incorrect information, employer decisions and external service outages may affect results or availability. This does not remove my responsibility for my own actions, failures to act or legal obligations.

14. Your information and deletion

Your work records stay on your device and, if you enable sync, in your iCloud account. I do not maintain a database of your shifts and earnings on my own server. The Privacy Policy explains how purchase information, correspondence and other information are handled, along with your rights.

You can delete shifts and workplaces. Deleting a workplace also deletes its associated shifts. Report files, NFC tags, iCloud data and backups may need to be deleted separately. Uninstalling the app does not guarantee that this information is deleted.

15. Changes to these terms

These terms may change because of changes in the law, how the service is provided or the features described in section 12. The date above identifies the current version. I will give advance notice of changes affecting an ongoing agreement and, where required by law, provide that notice in a form you can save and refer to later.

You keep your statutory rights if a change significantly and negatively affects your use of the service. Where Polish law provides this right, you may end the agreement without notice within 30 days of the change or, if later, the notice of that change, unless you can continue using the unchanged service that meets the agreement at no extra cost. Any refund due for unused access will be handled as required by law. Changes do not take away rights you have already acquired.

16. Governing law, complaints and withdrawal

Polish law applies without limiting any mandatory consumer protection available in your country of residence. The courts with jurisdiction are determined by applicable law.

Send complaints to [email protected]. Describe the problem, the outcome you would like and how to contact you. Do not send your Apple password or payment card details. I will respond to consumer complaints within 14 days, or sooner if required by law.

If the service does not meet this agreement, you can ask for the issue to be resolved. Where the law allows, you can also request a price reduction or end the agreement. These rights are separate from Apple’s voluntary refund policy.

If you have a statutory right to withdraw from an agreement made remotely, you generally have 14 days from the date you enter into it. Send a clear statement before the deadline, for example an email identifying the agreement, purchase date and your contact details. You do not have to use a particular form. Simply using the app does not automatically mean you lose this right. For paid digital content supplied without a physical medium, the right is lost only if the legal conditions are met, including your prior express consent, your acknowledgement that you will lose the right and the required confirmation. Different rules may apply to digital services.

You can seek help from a consumer adviser or an appropriate out-of-court dispute resolution body. Information is available from UOKiK. I will explain my position on taking part in a particular procedure as required by law.

17. Apple and support

Apple’s Standard EULA governs your licence to use the app. Hubert Kraus is responsible for Secuno and support for its operation. Apple handles purchases and subscription management through the App Store. For payments, cancellation and refunds, follow the guidance in section 9.

18. General terms

If a provision cannot be enforced, the rest of these terms continue to apply to the extent allowed by law. A delay in exercising a right does not mean that the right has been waived. The agreement may be transferred to another provider only if the legal conditions are met, including your consent where required.

19. Contact

For questions, complaints and bug reports, email [email protected].
